Well I guess anyone that knows anything about SEO and achieving top rankngs will see eye to eye with me when I say that backlinks are a vital factor in achieving high search engine placement. Plus it’s even better if you can get them for free.

Some of you will be new so I will quickly explain that a backlink is essentially another link from another website that points back to your site, sometimes they are called inbound links. So let’s say for example you wrote an article and put a link in the author resource box that points back to your website, that is a backlink! Pretty simple huh? Or another example would be if your friend had a website and they put a link to your site then hey presto, you have got yourself another incoming link!

Most people would not have too many problems getting incoming linking but its important to get your link juice from relevant websites. So if your site is about gardening then you would be best to get links from other websites and articles about gardening, the reason for this is that the search engines love relevancy. So every backlink that comes from a relevant site will do more for your rankings. Relevant backlinks will be way more effective for your ranking.

Assuming that you will put in the work required you can get high position for most key phrases, evidently there are some key phrases where there is already too much competition to get a decent ranking but there are still loads you can go for. It’s really a case of who has the most backlinks, so if you want to outrank your friend, put together more link juice then they have and as long as your content is relevant to your desired key phrase it’s most likely you will get a better ranking.

Not too complex is it? It’s vital that you are constant, Google in particular gets excited when it sees links appearing often to your site, they will take a shine to you and hence will send more traffic to you. If you make a few links and then bring to a standstill Google may get sad and loose interest in your website and we never want that!

It sucks getting other sites to link to you and it can also be a long and arduous process to get your content into the relevant places, I know because I’ve done it! The ideal solution is to have an automated system in place where we can do the work just once then get on with our lives whilst our links are being built for us right?. What would be great is if we didn’t have to do anything! and it was all done for us on auto-pilot

Over the last 6 months I’ve been using a tool that has automated by backlink building for me and it has built me hundreds of inbound links which has gotten my rankings very high! Which has resulted in plenty of sales through my websites

Web content is what search engines like most. Web surfers conduct their queries in the hope of finding relevant content for their needs. In this context, article marketing as the practice of writing web content for informative and advertising purposes has become predominant with many businesses. If implemented correctly, a good article marketing strategy brings credibility to the business, good visibility in search engine result pages and relevant traffic.

Article Marketing Strategy

The business objectives usually influence the type of article marketing strategy to use as well as the ways to implement it. If you understand those goals that lead to the creation of the article marketing strategy, you will get the answer to problems such as how to make the articles, where to submit them and how to create the author resource box.

Fresh informative materialsaims at increasing the web traffic and indirectly sales. In other words, the materials you provide should attract the readers that are most likely to convert into business clients. Variation of content or fresh material will often be an issue. Even if you stick to a single article marketing strategy that has proved highly useful, you still need to commission a constant article flow to maintain an optimal traffic level.

Keywords rule!
You should have good writing skills if you want to go through all the steps of the article marketing strategy on your own. Not everybody can be an author. In very many situations, web developers don’t have enough time to do the writing themselves, and hire professionals for the task. Whether you write the articles yourself or not, keep in mind that the article marketing strategy grows on the basis of some very relevant keywords. These specific terms will thus make the basis for articles in general.

The resource box
Carefully plan the resource box or the end of the article, which should normally include your contact details. Depending on the web directory with which you work, there will be limitations to the number of links that you are allowed to include in the article content. The resource box should stir the reader’s curiosity and make him/her want to visit your website, which is actually a basic article marketing strategy. Remember to mention your name too! It’s professional and it gives credibility!

If you want to really make your article “SELL” then you’ve got to craft the perfect RESOURCE BOX. This is the “author bio” that is below your article body and it’s also known as your “SIG” (short for SIGnature).

Here are the essential items that should be in your RESOURCE BOX:

Your Name: You’d be amazed at how many folks forget to include their name in the RESOURCE BOX. Your name and optional title should be the first thing in your resource box. Your Website Address: in valid URL form. Example: http://Your-Company-Name.com/ Your Elevator Pitch: This is 1 to 3 sentences that encapsulates the essence of what makes you and your offering unique. Also known as your USP (Unique Selling Proposition). Your Call To Action: You’ve got them warmed up and now it’s time to lead them to BUY from you or visit your website. This is where you “Ask For The Sale.” Best to only give (1) specific call to action.

Here are some optional items you could include in your RESOURCE BOX:

Your Ezine Subscription Address: While getting your interested visitor to surf your website is nice, capturing their email address can help you begin the confidence/trust process. If you’re going to do this strategy, include a URL for your ezine subscription address and do not use an email address for the “join” address. Your Contact Information: Such as your business phone number or how to reach you for interviews or your press/media kit. Keep in mind that article marketing is a timeless strategy and you may not have an easy ability to retract what you put in your article once it hits major distribution. A Free Report: This could also be part of your call to action or your free bonus report that further enhances your credibility as the expert on the topic of your article. Your email autoresponder: I’m not a big fan of this strategy due to the fact that spammers will text-extract your autoresponder address and add it to their spam list. Perhaps this strategy was best for the 1990′s and has now run its course. An anchor URL that is related to one keyword or keyword phrase that you want to build SEO strength for. Example: if I wanted to build search engine relevance/strength for the term “Article Marketing,” I’d link up that term in my resource box to my website. This is an intermediate to advanced level strategy and should not be abused by over-doing it. Keep it simple.

What NOT to include in your RESOURCE BOX:

A listing of every website you own. There is no faster way to dilute your credibility than by posting a half dozen irrelevant URLs that have nothing to do with each other. Best to only post ONE URL that is related to the topic of your article. A listing of every accomplishment you’ve achieved to date. No one cares. Keep your resource box brief and to the point. Yes, your resource box should be benefit oriented so that the reader finds value in reading it rather than your ego being justified. Advertisements or pitches for products that are not relevant to the topic of your article. Keep the size of your resource box so that it’s no larger than 15% of your total article size. Too often I see resource boxes that are 50% of the size of the total article and this is abusive.

Your Perfect Resource Box Conclusion:

The BODY of your article is where you “GIVE” and the RESOURCE BOX is where you get to “TAKE” for your article marketing gift of information. The resource box is the “currency of payment” you receive for giving away your article. Be sure to include your name, website address, your unique selling proposition as briefly as possible and a simple call to action.
